New Study: Aliens building a mega-structure around Tabby’s Star?

Tabby's star shows evidence that there is an alien civilization building a Dyson Sphere around it? KIC8462852 also known as Tabby star has recently become the primary subject of much ongoing research. The strange fluctuations in this star’s light are what caused Yale astronomer Tabetha (Tabby) Boyajian, who first discovered the star to describe it as the most mysterious star in the universe.

Astronomer Bradley E. Schaefer from Louisiana State University's findings had suggested a long-term dimming of the Tabby star. A brightness decrease by 20 percent over the last century and that is highly difficult to explain by natural means. But it is consistent with the idea that aliens were gradually converting the material in the star’s planetary system into giant mega structures.

Schaefer’s study has now been accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed Astrophysical Journal. Schaefer said that independent measures by astronomers show that Tabby’s star has indeed faded. The dips found by Kepler are real. Something seems to be transiting in front of this star, and we still have no idea what it is! Schaefer took a hard look at this mysterious star not only using the Kepler telescope data, but using a collection of roughly 500,000 sky photographs in the archives of Harvard College Observatory.

Two independent sources now show Tabby Star is displaying unique and inexplicable photometric variations. These findings have scientists scratching their head. Of course none have wanted to say that it is solid evidence of intelligent aliens. Jason Wright, an astronomer from Penn State University has stated "Aliens should always be the very last hypothesis you consider. But this looked like something you would expect an alien civilization to build.” We need to consider that perhaps we’ve caught an advanced alien civilization in the process of building something massive near KIC8462852. Could this be some sort of Dyson Sphere type megastructure built by a highly advanced civilization? How likely is it for 648,000 giant-comets to exist around one star? And to have their orbits orchestrated so as to all pass in front of the star within the last century?

This century-long dimming is a strong argument against the comet hypothesis to explain the Kepler dips. It has been going on for as long as we’ve had telescopes to point at the sky. The comets would have to be the size of a separate solar system to explain it and that is completely implausible, Dr. Schaefer says. As observed by the Kepler spacecraft, everyone agrees that Tabby Star's light can appear strongly and weirdly irregular. Anywhere from a fraction-of- a-percent to around 20 percent of the star’s light sometimes is apparently blocked. That’s why astronomers began talking about alien megastructures, the Dyson spheres.

These vast structures are the best explanation for what might be periodically blocking the star’s light. To investigate this idea, scientists have been using the Allen Telescope Array to search for non-naturalm radio signals from the direction of the mystery star. This effort is looking for both narrow-band signals as well as somewhat broader transmissions that might be produced, for example, by powerful spacecraft. The world’s top astronomers of the SETI program have refused to rule out the possibility of an extraterrestrial mega structure orbiting the Tabby star. They have stated that they were unable to disapprove the theory that a massive artificial structure is causing the mysterious light patterns spotted around the distant star.

UK scientists attempting to grow DRONES WITH chemputer

Future Grown Drones

UK scientists attempting to 'grow' DRONES WITH 'chemputer'. Thanks to BAE Systems. M.O.D Can you chemically "grow" a military drone? It sounds like an idea for a science fiction film, but here in the UK scientists and engineers are spending time and money to see if they can do exactly that. British warplanes are already flying with parts made from a 3D printer.

Researchers are already using that same technology to build drones. The military advantage is obvious - building equipment quickly and close to the battlefield - without long waits and long supply chains - gives you an enormous advantage over any enemy. Chemical reactions But the latest innovation being developed by Prof Lee Cronin at Glasgow University takes 3D printing to another level. With industrial advice from BAE Systems, he is developing something called a "chemputer" which, in theory, would be able to "grow" small scale unmanned aircraft, or drones in a laboratory.

While a 3D printer physically makes the parts for a machine, the "chemputer" speeds up the chemical reactions from the molecular level. Such a breakthrough could mean it would take weeks rather than months or years to build an aircraft from scratch. An animated video of what it might be like is almost a scene out of Star Wars "Attack of the Clones".

Prof Cronin admits that creating even small aircraft out of chemicals "would be very challenging".But he says that by developing an autonomous digital synthesis engine they will be able to assemble "complex objects with minimal human assistance". At least at some point in the future. That still seems a long way off. But another innovation may be much nearer. High speed aircraft A small British company, Reaction Engines Limited, is already developing a rocket that could one day fly at hypersonic speeds.

Hypersonic speed is roughly defined as Mach 5 and above (Mach 1 is about 760mph). BAE Systems has already invested more than £20m in the project. It sees the potential for developing military aircraft that could reach a target much faster than any jet. Flying at high speed and high altitude in space, it could also avoid air defence systems and anti-aircraft missiles.

BAE System has produced an animation that shows such an aircraft delivering swift support to special forces troops thousands of miles away. Rather than bombs, the rocket releases small surveillance drones. But it is clear the defence industry is already looking at their potential use on the battlefield. The advance for commercial flight too is pretty obvious, slashing the time to cross the Atlantic. Before dismissing such ideas as the stuff of nonsense, it is always worth remembering the speed of change.

3D printers are being used widely by the military. I was recently on board a US Navy aircraft carrier which has its own 3D printer. Armed forces across the world are also relying much more on unmanned land, air and underwater vehicles that can work remotely. The US Air Force now trains more drone operators than fighter pilots. In fact its newest aircraft - the F35 - has been called the last manned fighter. As Prof Nick Colosimo of BAE Systems notes, "the world of military and civil aircraft is constantly evolving".

FBI built a massive facial recognition database without proper oversight

The FBI steadily, stealthily compiled a massive facial recognition database without oversight and in disregard of federal law, according to a report released today by the Government Accountability Office.

The bombshell report reveals that the FBI dipped into driver’s license photo databases from 16 states, as well as passport and visa photo databases from the State Department, feeding its facial recognition with millions of photos of Americans and foreigners who have never been accused of a crime. The FBI has access to a whopping 411.9 million images for use in facial recognition, roughly 30 million of which are mug shots. The sheer number of photos described in the GAO report is staggering, but what’s worse is that the FBI didn't make public disclosures about the program required by law, the report says. The GAO recommended that the FBI make several improvements to its transparency process and assess its past failures. The report instructs that the U.S. Attorney General should determine why the FBI didn't publish legally mandated privacy assessments as it expanded its facial recognition program. The Privacy Act requires government agencies to disclose how they harvest and use personal information like ID photos, but the GAO found that the FBI didn't make the mandatory disclosures.

Facial Recognition System
“There appears to be no internal oversight on this system and that’s remarkable,” Alvaro Bedoya, the executive director of the Center on Privacy and Technology at Georgetown Law, told TechCrunch. Bedoya previously worked for Senator Al Franken, the legislator who has frequently pushed for oversight of facial recognition technology and requested that the GAO audit the FBI’s use of the technology. “Today we found out that they have no idea if they’re misusing it or not,” Bedoya said of the FBI. “They’ve literally never done an audit.” Bedoya pointed out that many Americans don’t expect their driver’s license photos to end up in a federal law enforcement database. “When you turn 16 or 17, you don’t go down to the police station and give them your fingerprints; you go get your driver’s license. Turns out, it’s the same thing as far as the FBI is concerned,” he said. “They might not be storing these photos at Quantico but it has built, in effect, a nationwide biometric database using driver’s license photos. It’s breathtaking.” The GAO report also notes that the reliability of the FBI’s facial recognition technology is virtually untested, and testing it for accuracy is complicated, given that the FBI searches several different state and federal databases for photos. Studies have consistently found facial recognition software to be faulty when identifying minorities, women and young people, and it’s probable that the FBI’s databases are susceptible to similar biases. The GAO made three recommendations to help the FBI test and audit the accuracy of the system and to ensure that the data from other databases is reliable, but the Justice Department argued that the FBI has done sufficient accuracy testing. “This GAO report raises some very serious concerns, and reveals that the FBI’s use of facial recognition technology is far greater than had previously been understood. This is especially concerning because the report shows that the FBI hasn't done enough to audit its own use of facial recognition technology or that of other law enforcement agencies that partner with the FBI, nor has it taken adequate steps to ensure the technology’s accuracy,” Franken said in a statement on the report. The GAO findings come at an interesting moment in the FBI’s push for facial recognition. The bureau has asked that its biometric information be exempt from certain Privacy Act provisions. Nearly 50 organizations have signed on to oppose this exemption, and public comment on the issue remains open until July 6. As the issue of biometric databases and individual privacy continues to grow, so does the FBI’s photo collection. The GAO report reveals that 16 more states are in negotiations with the FBI to provide access to their driver’s license photo databases. By Kate Conger.

UFO Seen In Sky 2008 Pueblo, Colorado at President Barack Obamas Speech!

On November the 1st 2008 President Barack Obama was giving his speech in Pueblo, Colorado and as he was giving this speech MSNBC was filming it and up in the right corner of the screen you can clearly see a UFO coming out of the clouds and at about 50-60 miles an hour this thing is clearly visible! Why the suits at MSNBC didnt see this we will probably never know? But this is crazy, why didnt the secret service not get on to this? It wasnt in the sky when they looked but only caught on film which in itself begs the question, was they using some sort of cloaking device? Did no-one see it because it was just to fast even for a second glance? Did this show up on any radars or other instruments? One thing you cannot deny is this, it was there and it is on film as proof!
Also, whats being done since this episode? Has any-one looked in to this? I bet you this much, someone somewhere knows and this is being kept as a secret, maybe even from the stupid man in charge himself?
